If your high schooler likes sleeping in during the summer, this afternoon camp is perfect!
Communication is one of the most important skills a student can develop in high school.
Students are expected to present projects, contribute in class discussions, interview for leadership roles and internships, collaborate with peers, and soon interview for college and jobs. Yet most students are rarely taught how to organize their thoughts clearly, express ideas confidently, and communicate with impact!

That’s exactly what this program teaches.
Our 2-Week High School Communication Intensive is designed to help students become clear thinkers, confident speakers, and powerful communicators through a combination of high-energy lessons, speaking challenges, creative activities, and real-world communication scenarios.

Students may enroll in one week or both, but together the two programs provide a complete communication experience!

Expect fast-paced speaking games, interactive exercises, structured coaching, and plenty of opportunities to practice in a supportive and energizing environment.
Most importantly, the program is fun, effective, and confidence-building!

Week 1: High School Speaking Bootcamp

The Speaking Bootcamp focuses on one of the most valuable skills for high school students: thinking and speaking clearly on the spot.

Students participate in rapid-fire speaking challenges, impromptu rounds, group discussions, and engaging activities designed to help them build confidence and communicate clearly under pressure.

Students learn how to:
• Organize ideas quickly and clearly
• Speak confidently in class discussions and presentations
• Manage nervousness when put on the spot
• Respond thoughtfully to unexpected questions
• Develop stronger social communication skills
• Think on their feet in real-world situations

Students practice impromptu speaking, persuasive responses, storytelling, and structured thinking while receiving individualized feedback from instructors.

Week 2: The Big Idea Lab
Create and Deliver a TED-Style Talk

📅 July 20–24
🕐 1:30–4:30 PM
In Week 2, students learn how to turn ideas into powerful, engaging presentations.
Students brainstorm ideas, write short speeches, and learn how to deliver them with clarity, confidence, and impact.
Students will also study the elements that make persuasive and motivational speeches memorable, learning how great speakers inspire audiences and communicate meaningful ideas.

Students will learn how to:
• Develop a powerful idea worth sharing
• Structure and write a clear and engaging talk
• Use storytelling, persuasion, and motivational speaking techniques
• Speak with confidence and presence
• Manage nerves while presenting
• Deliver a talk that connects with and inspires an audience
By the end of the week, students will deliver their own TED-style presentation and parents will receive a recorded copy!

Learn from Real Communication Professionals!

At Highest Speak, students are taught by experienced professional communicators, not typical camp counselors.

Programs are led by Highest Speak founder Sumedha Bahri — Patent Attorney, Adjunct Professor, Federal Orals Coach, Keynote Speaker, and Stand-Up Comic — along with other engaging Highest Speak instructors.

Students will also receive feedback and insight from a previous TEDx Youth Speaker (a high school student) who will share their experience and help students refine their presentations.
We always have multiple instructors to ensure individualized coaching and plenty of speaking opportunities!
